Happy New Year!

I don't "do" resolutions - I have never been one to believe in them. That being said, I have decided that there are 2 things that I really want to try in 2009 (notice I didn't say that I was "resolving" to do them)!

1 - I want to try a new recipe each week. For some of you, this is no big deal but for me (and my husband!) it is! Why? Because I hate to plan meals!! I have a ton of cookbooks and I really don't mind cooking, I just do NOT like planning what to have with the main entree. I'm thinking that if I go through my cookbooks and pick out one from each one, I'll be covered for the year (seriously, I have at least that many cookbooks!). I'm actually looking forward to this and I've already started it with a recipe that I haven't made in a few years! If you have a recipe that you would like to share, please don't hesitate to do so! :c)

2 - Becky Higgins has this idea that is called Project 365. You can read about it on her blog by clicking here. In a nutshell, she's taking a picture of her life every day and then scrapping it. While I can't (and won't) commit to scrapping every single day I think setting aside one day per week (Friday) to scrap will work for me! I have SO many pictures of my kids that I need to get into albums that I would absolutely feel overwhelmed if I let myself! Then I think about the pictures I have of me & my family when I was a kid and my mother-in-law has just given me a few pictures of my DH and his family (and I get more when I go to visit so she & I can go through them all). As if that isn't enough to make you quake in your grandmother has a lot of pictures (6 or 7 boxes) that I have and will be putting them into albums for her (and scanning some for me!). I'm absolutely thrilled to do this and will start next Friday (Jan. 9th). I even have an album to work on already. I'll finish the album for our July 4th trip last year that I started at my friend Cindy's crop! If this is something that you would like to do, let me know! We can keep track of how much we have completed and keep each other on track. :c)

I'll be getting a jump start on my pictures today/tonight....we're going to the Chik-Fil-A Bowl!! I'm so excited and I can't wait to go! We're going with our next-door neighbors and it's going to be fabulous!

Whatever you do, please be careful and have a safe New Year! I'll be sharing pictures for what I've been up to over the Christmas holiday tomorrow and I hope you enjoy the projects I created!

Happy New Year! :c)
